Each year the Arkansas Jewelers Association holds design competitions, which are judged during the annual AJA Convention in Little Rock, Arkansas.
The 2010 Annual Convention will take place at the Doubletree Hotel on August 21 & 22 in Little Rock, Arkansas.
The 2010 Entry Deadline for each competition is August 13, 2010. Please read each entry form for complete competition details.

C.A.R.A.T. Award (Creative Achievement Recognizing Arkansas Talent)
The first C.A.R.A.T. Award competition was in 1987.
This competition is for completed jewelry design pieces. Actual jewelry must be submitted. Entries are judge on the following four elements:
- Overall Design
- Marketability
- Practicality / Wearability
- Craftsmanship
2010 C.A.R.A.T. Entry Form
Craftsmanship Award - This competition recognizes excellence in craftsmanship ONLY at the Arkansas State level. Entries must also participate in the CARAT Award competition. Entries will be judged on the following:
- Fit
- Polish
- Finish
- Setting Techniques
- Complexity of Technical Issues & Execution
2010 Craftsmanship Entry Form
Design Award - This competition recognizes excellence in design ONLY at the Arkansas State level. Participants must enter a rendering or a photo of a design. Entries will be judged on the following:
- Originality
- Creativity
- Wearability
